POLIMED

The Pôle d'Infrastructures Médicales (POLIMED) specialises in the design, development and operation of medical infrastructures. This mission may include the definition, acquisition, operation and maintenance of medical-technical equipment. POLIMED monitors the implementation of projects entrusted to it by the Ministry of Health and Social Action (MSAS), as part of its programme to improve health coverage. POLIMED is piloting the following projects:

The construction of a turnkey infrastructure at the Mathlaboul Fawzaïni National Hospital in Touba (CHN MFT).

The project consists of the construction and fitting out of a new 5-storey building covering almost 10,000 m2. It will house 132 beds, 5 operating theatres and a 9-bed intensive care unit.

The construction of the new hospital in Tivaouane and the reconstruction of Aristide Le Dantec in Dakar, for which FONSIS has been designated as the MSAS's delegated project manager.

The project to build the new Tivaouane hospital consists of the construction of a 24,000 m2, with a capacity of 300 beds, built on a 6-hectare site in Yadjine, in the department of Tivaouane. The aim of this project is to strengthen the health map and create a modern, comprehensive hospital capable of serving Tivaouane and the surrounding urban centres. The hospital will also serve as a centre of excellence for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Thiès

The project to rebuild the Le Dantec hospital in Dakar aims to create a 660-bed hospital on a built area of 70,000 m2.

The reconstruction of this hospital is a symbol of the modernisation of medical facilities. Le Dantec is an historic hospital that dates back more than a century, and is an integral part of Senegal's history. In order to preserve its historical memory, a virtual museum will be set up. Some of the hospital's artefacts will also be preserved and incorporated into the new hospital.

The POLIMED medical imaging centre is operated by POLIMED SASU.

Housed within the Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Barro hospital centre in Mbour, it is an example of a Public Private Partnership that provides quality services at the best price for the population. It offers a wide range of medical imaging services: ultrasound, radiology, scanner and endoscopy. It enables people to benefit from a local service and receive the results of their examinations within a day.
