The Matlaboul Fawza\u00efni National Hospital in Touba now has a new, modern hospital building, which\nwill be operational on 26 March 2025. Built and equipped by FONSIS through its subsidiary POLIMED,\nthis six-storey building will significantly enhance the range of healthcare services available in the\nregion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a capacity of 132 beds, the building houses the surgery, maternity, intensive care and operating\ntheatre departments. It will improve patient care and working conditions for staff. Hospital Director\nDr Makhtar L\u00f4 pointed out that the old hospital capacity had been exceeded, particularly in the\nmaternity ward, where the occupancy rate regularly exceeded 100%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was carried out under a Public-Private Partnership between the State of Senegal and\nFONSIS, with the support of the Ministries of Finance and Budget and of Health and Social Action.\nEntirely financed and executed by Senegalese players, the building represents an investment of FCFA 9.6 billion. It comprises 70 rooms, 6 operating theatres, 9 intensive care beds, accommodation suites, rest areas for carers and living quarters for medical staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new building also incorporates the latest generation of medical and technical equipment, a\ndigital infrastructure to help digitise the patient pathway, and a wastewater treatment plant\nconnected to the ONAS network. This project is part of the wider hospital modernisation programme\npiloted by FONSIS, which in the coming weeks will see the handover of the Tivaouane hospitals and,\nlater, the Aristide Le Dantec hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Centre Hospitalier National Matlaboul Fawza\u00efni de Touba dispose d\u00e9sormais d\u2019un nouveau b\u00e2timent hospitalier moderne, op\u00e9rationnel le 26 mars 2025. Construit et \u00e9quip\u00e9 par le FONSIS \u00e0 travers sa filiale POLIMED, cet \u00e9difice de six niveaux renforce significativement l\u2019offre de soins dans la r\u00e9gion. D\u2019une capacit\u00e9 de 132 lits, le b\u00e2timent regroupe les services de chirurgie, maternit\u00e9, r\u00e9animation et bloc op\u00e9ratoire. Il permet d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019accueil des patients et les conditions de travail du personnel. Le Directeur de l\u2019h\u00f4pital, Dr Makhtar L\u00f4, a soulign\u00e9 que l\u2019ancienne capacit\u00e9 d\u2019hospitalisation \u00e9tait d\u00e9pass\u00e9e, notamment en maternit\u00e9 o\u00f9 le taux d\u2019occupation exc\u00e9dait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement les 100 %. Le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 dans le cadre d\u2019un Partenariat Public-Priv\u00e9 entre l\u2019\u00c9tat du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal et le FONSIS, avec l\u2019appui des minist\u00e8res des Finances et du Budget et de la Sant\u00e9 et de l\u2019Action sociale. Enti\u00e8rement financ\u00e9 et ex\u00e9cut\u00e9 par des acteurs s\u00e9n\u00e9galais, le b\u00e2timent repr\u00e9sente un investissement de 9,6 milliards FCFA. Il comprend 70 chambres, 6 blocs op\u00e9ratoires, 9 lits de r\u00e9animation, des suites d\u2019h\u00e9bergement, des espaces de repos pour les accompagnants ainsi que des locaux de vie pour le personnel m\u00e9dical. Le nouvel \u00e9difice int\u00e8gre \u00e9galement des \u00e9quipements m\u00e9dico-techniques de derni\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, une infrastructure num\u00e9rique propice \u00e0 la digitalisation du parcours patient, ainsi qu\u2019une station d\u2019\u00e9puration raccord\u00e9e au r\u00e9seau de l\u2019ONAS.
