Launched on August 2nd 2019, DB Foods is a 35% FONSIS’ subsidiary, established in the north of Senegal and produces a rice known as “Thiep bi”. It was marketed several weeks ago, with the aim to integrate quickly into the Senegalese eating habits. The sellers’ confidence in the product quality results in its distribution through supermarkets and other shops, and even very soon by one of the biggest national retailers.


An agreement was signed between, FONSIS, the Health Minister and the Minister in charge of economy and cooperation on July, 15th 2019.

The Memorandum of Understanding sets out the collaboration framework to raise the quality of Senegal's medical facilities and to achieve digitalization of the healthcare system as well.  


POLIMED Center, which is located inside Mbour Hospital and delivers medical images services has purchased a new CT scanner, since September 6 2019.  Thanks to this state-of-the-art unit, people living inside and to the suburbs of Mbour will be delivered medical services on site, instead of going to Dakar or Thiès as they used to. Furthermore, transfers of emergency cases to other hospitals will decrease.
